To have a positive view of the future is perhaps not a fact based view and certainly not more true than to have a negative view of the future, however, it simply feels better to be positive!
Positive energy results in greater productivity and those close to you, like your family, working colleagues, pets, and fellow car drivers will just love you.
So make up your mind! Be happy and optimistic! Picture it!
Taylor/Brook, in 1988, stated that there are three attributes that are well recognized in a happy, healthy and adjusted human being:
- Person has unrealistically positive estimates of his or own capabilities.
- Overestimates his or her ability to control the situation.
- Is unrealistically positive about the future.
And that, by the way, is me in a nutshell!
First, I believe that I drive my car better than anyone else.
Second, I believe if I’m sick, I can get better on my own without having to see a doctor.
Three, I do believe the future is bright despite difficulties I might experience in my personal life.
I think I am enjoying a constant placebo effect. The term is used to describe the healing results of a placebo or fake treatments where inactive substances can improve a condition simply as a result of the patient’s expectation for improvement. Therefore, the healing is based solely on the power of suggestion. And through the power of suggestion and my own will, I manage to keep a positive outlook on life and maintain high energy in my personal and professional life.
I listened to the mental instructor, Rolf Röhlander’s presentation the other day. I was very impressed and I found his instruction true from my own experience. His basic message is “think in positive pictures” and the things you imagine will be realized! He maintains that the mind can be trained to visualize individual goals and achievements and a person can develop a vision to accomplish these in the long term and on a daily basis. This practice, of course, is not easy and perhaps not fully true for everyone. By all means, however, it is at least easier to accomplish something being in a positive mindset.
So, set your mind to be positive for a more enjoyable daily life and improve your ability to accomplish life goals.
If not, then the opposite is a pity, demonstrated by the Pike Syndrome test. Please see the attached video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyHCOPe8qy0
The test speaks for itself. And the same can be said about people. If a person’s mindset is negative and pessimistic about the future, he will behave negatively.
I say that everyone should take the placebo of positive thinking and see what happens. There can only be something to gain. So be positive!
Like the famous French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand stated in an article published in Le Monde in September 2008: “Our backs are up against the wall. It is too late to be pessimistic” (Il est trop tard pour être pessimiste)
Let me finish my blog today as I started it: Set your mind on a positive note. Don’t do a Pike!
Think progressively!
